This morning a group of Students and faculties from Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA visited Tibetan Women’s Organization’s office and they had an interactive and informal session with us. It was our great pleasure to introduce them about our Organization; how it was formed in 1959, how it was re-established in exile, Approaches, Programs and Projects, Tibet before and after invasion and Tibetan Environment.

Qualification:

MBBS or Bachelor of Science in Nursing

 

Requirement:

  • Covering letter addressed to the President
  • Brief introduction of yourself and family background along with a statement explaining why you deserve to be the TWA Fellowhip recipient.
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Attested copy of updated Green Book and Refugee Certificate (RC)
  • Degree Certificates
  • Medical Certificate

 

In order to apply, applicants must be enrolled in or already accepted into a university or medical college in India.

2013 TWA Fellowship Announcement

On 54th Anniversary of Tibetan Women’s Uprising Day, TWA has announced scholarship to a Tibetan female student who plans to do further study either on gynecology or pediatrics studies. Unfortunately, till date no one has applied! So, here we are announcing this scholarship once again to all the female students.

A brief profile: Doma Lama was born in Tibet, Ngari region (Shungru Karkang) in the family of Dankar Namsey. She left tibet with her family after the Chinese invasion, since then she has been living in Nepal. She got married in Nepal and has three children and a grandson. Doma has been involved in carpet business for a long time and since 2006 she has been involved in the hydropower business in Nepal. Doma being a pious woman takes much interest in religious activities and also devotes lot of her time in social activities. Two years ago she joined the Tibetan woman association in Kathmandu since then she has been actively involved in the association.

A brief profile: Susana Vega leads student of life, currently employed as a nurse, and hoping to be useful to people along the way.  Susan shares a deep love for her family, friends, neurotic dog, and chubby cat.  She swims and reads as often as she can and attempts to live life with no regrets.  A recent visit to Dharamsala left a strong impression and she hopes to be of use to the Tibetan people, particularly women, now and more so in the future.
