Dharamshala NGOs has organised a Peace March against Chinese Illegal Mining in Tibet!

Dharamshala June8:  Tibetan Women’s Association collaborated with Tibetan Youth Congress, Dharamshala, Students for a Free Tibet, India, Gu-Chu-Sum and organized a Peace March Protest against the Chinese illegal mining in Amchok and other parts of Tibet. More than hundred Tibetans from Lhagang, Nangkor, Naglung, Kunmang and Nang nomadic villages in the Yulshok Gargye region in Minyak County on May 4 rose against the illegal Lithium mining that led to the poisoning on the local river and death of many fishes.

A day after the protest, on 1 June the local Chinese authorities deployed heavy armed forces at the holy site, tightened surveillance in the town and imposed severe restrictions on communication to outside world.
In solidarity we led the peace march protest on an emergency ground.The Peace March Protest started at 5 Pm from the Main square – Bhagsu Nag Road – Jogiwara Road- Potala Road and concluded at Tsuklakhang.
