Choedon

Choedon was born in Tibet and came to India when she was 6 years old. She did her schooling from Upper TCV till Xth standard and T.C.V Gopalpur for her XIth and XIIth standard education. She did her Bachelor in Political Science, Sociology Honors and Psychology with Advanced Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from Post Graduate Government College for Girls sector 11 Chandigarh(PGGCG-11) and recently in 2020, she completed her Masters in Social work (MSW) from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Experiences

During her 2 years of master’s degree, she did an internship in a different institutions like, Women’s Empowerment Desk (WED),CTA, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU)
Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Chandigarh Government, Centre for Community Economic and Development Consultants Society (CECODECAN) Jaipur, Rajasthan, School of Public Health (PGI) Chandigarh and Global Peace Foundation, Nepal (GPF Nepal) also able to provide volunteer service as a vice president Regional Tibetan Youth congress Chandigarh (RTYC) where she gained lot of experiences. She joined as the Safe Space Project’s Counsellor on 16th June 2021. The Safe Space
Program is a new program jointly initiated by Tibetan Women’s Association and Women’s Empowerment Program, CTA to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence (SBGV) in our community.
