[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 30th April, 2019 TIbetan Women’s Association’s 16th Batch of SOT have successfully completed their 18 months Tailoring course on 30th March, 2019.
Stitches of Tibet is a Project by TWA that promotes economic stability for Tibetan Women living in exile and also facilitate the women in our society to stand on their own feet without having to depend their livelihood on somebody else.
Till now 16 batches had completed their tailoring course under this project and soon we’ll head forward with another batch soon.
We are positive that this batch had a meaningful and valuable time with us and hope that these 18 months of tailoring course will shape their life for the betterment and best. TWA started its first ever “Youth Empowerment Training” (YET) in lieu of “Advanced Women’s Empowerment Training” from 24th to 30th December, 2018 with 30 participants from 5 major Universities in South India at Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi.
During this weeklong workshop, the participants will be introduced to important issues such as Gender Sensitization, Gender Equality, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Leadership and Lobbying. They’re also imparted and guided with knowledge from professionals in various fields
Jaipur, Rajasthan: As per the Appeal for Tibet to Indian Leaders Tour initiated by Central TWA, Vice-President, Mrs. Kalsang Youdon la and staff Ms. Thupten Lhamo la reached Jaipur on the evening of 22nd December, 2018.
They visited MP Ramcharan Bhora, a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and appealed him to bring in discussions about Tibet with Chinese delegates and other Indian leaders. They also met a Group of BTSM, the President of Women’s Wings and their team and had an interactive session with them. Thereafter, they organised a Press Conference with the various news agencies at Jaipur. They concluded the Jaipur tour by meeting with Tibetan Sweater sellers talking to them about TWA’s various programs, projects, social services, it’s future plannings and informed them of repressive human rights violation in Tibet under People’s Republic of China.
It was an eventful moment at Jaipur meeting with aforementioned people and we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for all their support and kind wishes.
